Currently Clive's musical work is heavily centred on the instrument described by Krusty the Clown in The Simpsons as "the thinking man's violin"... yes, of course, it's...

THE UKULELE

Clive's first instrument, that he started playing at the age of 4. Seeing his band Roaring Jelly in the 80s was a major influence on the founders of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, who in turn have played a huge part in popularising the uke. It's taken a quarter of a century but it's come full circle. Clive, one of the few ukulele teachers in Surrey, now has more ukulele pupils than guitar pupils and is also increasingly busy with live performances. So in exchange for money he will attend your event / club / festival / theatre / arts centre / school / social group / luxury yacht etc. to present:

• Travels with a Ukulele – a live performance featuring anecdotes, silly stories and flights of fancy based on his experiences as a working musician, with songs accompanied by – you guessed it – the ukulele.

• Clive's Uke-Can-Play Ukulele Show – a unique concept. As above but preceded by a ukulele workshop for those who fancy joining in later. This is perfectly possible, even for beginners!

• Ukulele workshops – for arts centres, schools, summer schools, clubs, festivals, even workplaces. Beginners upwards. This small, cheap, fun instrument is easy and positively therapeutic to learn – a great stressbuster.

Clive will also perform at private functions, picking from his wide repertoire whatever material is suitable for the occasion. Talk to him. If he can't do, he'll tell you. But he probably can.

Clive's CD – UK UKULELE ENVOY – is available at gigs and workshops or by post (see side panel)
